1. What is S&P 500?
It is an American stock price index invented by the American credit rating company 'Standard&Poor's'. Together with the Dow Jones and Nasdaq indices, it is called the three largest stock indices in the US, and this indice can be seen as the stock indices that represent the US stock market best.
The sectors that make up the S&P 500 index are divided into 11 industries, including IT, Financials, Healthcare, Consumer Discretionary, Energy, Industrials, Consumer Staples, and Materials. REITs stocks, which we are familiar with, are included in the real estate sector (accounting for 2.5%), while Web service companies such as Facebook and Google are included in the IT sector.
